Rachel Newman founded RPN and is the Global Head of our In-House Practice. Since 2004 Rachel has gained the trust of partners, associates, and in-house attorneys looking to make positive moves. Priding herself on listening to candidates and clients, Rachel's down-to earth approach and her ability to see every meeting as a long term relationship have helped her build the strongest new client referral network in the industry. Rachel develops and manages in-house relationships in countless industries, including health care, hedge funds, technology and consumer product companies, as well as several not-for-profits. Rachel enjoys partnering with General Counsels and Talent Professionals to identify the future of their legal department, and advising them on best hiring practices. She is also a consistent and reliable sounding board for clients as they evaluate and improve their diversity and women’s initiatives, and Rachel is routinely asked to attend conferences as a speaker on these important and dynamic topics. Rachel’s practice also includes helping law firms staff non-legal positions ranging from conflicts attorneys to Chief Diversity Officers.
Rachel earned her law degree, cum laude, from Hofstra University where she was a member of the Law Review. Her undergraduate degree, also cum laude, is in Sociology from Brandeis University. Before recruiting and founding RPN, Rachel was an associate with Sidley Austin in New York, in both the investment management and commercial litigation groups. She lives in Greenwich, Connecticut with her husband and five children.
